KAVIRI ALI WORK IN PICTURES

Aware of how crucial the media is in as far as transmitting information related to governance, democracy, and development as well as shaping the minds of young people, I have taken advantage of this important tool to reach out to young generation in order to teach them about social injustices in our communities like domestic violence, gender inequality, child labor and trafficking among others. I have managed to secure interviews with T.V stations, news papers, and radio stations. The main objective of this has been: To teach young people about social injustices in society like domestic violence.

Today has been my last day as Mr. FOWODE Forum for Women in Democracy after 3 years memorable and adventurous work in promotion of gender equality and social justice, alternative and transformative leadership. I have been MR FOWODE since 2009 a position conferred upon a man by forum For Women in Democracy (FOWODE) who understands and supports women’s causes in their quest to be the best that they can be. As Mr. FOWODE, I have actively engaged in activities that promote pro-poor values, gender equality and social justice. Among these have been conducting school outreaches, University dialogues and debates, raising awareness about leadership issues, community mobilization, radio and television talk shows, attending and contributing to conferences on leadership and good governance as well as participating in peaceful demonstrations on advocacy days.

Besides working on other engagements, I have also been running an online blog at http://mrfowode.blogspot.com/, where I have blogged on all aspects relating to youth and women’s empowerment, advocating for adolescent reproductive health among others. In addition, I have been sharing resources for calls for application, women scholarships, and NGO reports on the progress of women’s activism, coordinate and run A Mr. FOWODE page and FOWODE young leaders’ alumni association Group on face book at http://www.facebook.com/pages/MR-Fowode/158425410855131#!/pages/MR-Fowode/158425410855131, http://www.facebook.com/pages/MR-Fowode/158425410855131#!/groups/234311436615315/  http://friends.youthaward.org/mr-fowode

All the above projects have been specifically designed to help engage the young generation in issues of democracy, gender issues, political leadership, personal empowerment, and good governance In addition to spelling out what Mr. FOWODE does and updates the online community on current undertakings, opportunities for young people, what has been achieved among others. The main objective of this has mainly been to carry out discussions on the above mentioned issues by young people participating in constructive discussions online.

This therefore, is to bid farewell and it has been a pleasure meeting you in the course of my work at FOWODE and I hope we shall meet again in my other endeavors.

As I move on with life, I would like also to take a moment to appreciate and embrace our times together. It’s been great interacting and knowing each one of you in your individual capacities. I was able to meet you and or your organization because of my work at FOWODE and as I bid farewell, I would like to say thank you.
